Age at Work
Age at work is a decade by decade analysis of people's experiences, motivations and attitudes towards age and work. The findings are based on focus groups, in-depth and telephone interviews among nearly 1700 people and cross referenced with the Labour Force Survey. This is an invaluable resource for employers who need to understand their workforce.

Age Bias Free Application Form
Getting recruitment right is one of the biggest challenges for any employer. To help employers deliver age neutral recruitment practice the EFA developed a bias free application form. This form works not only for age, but will also support good practice in other areas of equality.

Age Matters in a Downturn
Produced in conjunction with TAEN this booklet is full of helpful advice for organisations looking at issues around age and redundancy.

Attitude Not Age
Attitude not Age reveals that there are four different types of worker whose responses to questions about work, working for longer, expectation of retirement and pension provision vary. By understanding what motivates people at work, employers can not only improve people's working lives but may also be able to influence people's retirement decisions. This report suggests the current 'one-size-fits-all' approach, to tackle working for longer and retirement, is ineffective.

Does employment history really help you to identify the right candidates or does it catch you in an age trap? This factsheet highlights some of the issues explored in the EFA's guide to recruitment, and demonstrates the EFA's age bias free application form.

Guide to Age and Employment
This guide aims to help employers understand the impact of the Equality Act 2010 on employment policy, with a focus on issues related to age. It contains advice on key aspects of policy and practice illustrated by relevant legal cases and scenario examples, so that you can easily recognise areas of risk.

The Equality Act also covers discrimination in relation to the provision of services and public functions (although the provisions on age discrimination are not yet in force), but this and other sections of the Act are not within the scope of this guide.
